catman was first created as a joke, derived from the nickname “catman” that was given to j’von by a close friend. originally, the character was a simply a “what if j’von existed in the land of Ooo (Adventure Time)” design. since then, catman has grown to be a mainstay… person? or a spirit? we don’t know but he’s essentially j’von’s internal monologue materialized. maybe he’s a hero, maybe he’s the most evil, repressed parts of j’von, but we hope they, he, or whatever j’von/catman is can figure it out.
